Dental crowns and bridges in Tirana

A crown covers and protects a tooth that is broken down, root-treated or heavily filled; a bridge replaces a missing tooth using the teeth beside it. Both are made in our partner laboratory from digital scans, and most cases are completed in a single visit to Tirana.

Materials and options

Crown try-in appointment before final cementation

Monolithic zirconia

Extremely strong and kind to the opposing teeth, our default for molars and for patients who grind.

Layered zirconia

A zirconia core with hand-layered ceramic on the visible surface, combining strength with a natural front-tooth appearance.

Shade matching a new crown to the neighbouring teeth

E.max crowns

Lithium disilicate with excellent translucency for single front teeth where matching the neighbouring tooth is critical.

Full-arch bridge supported by implants

Onlays and partial crowns

Where enough healthy tooth remains we bond a partial restoration instead of a full crown and keep more of your own tooth.

Crown materials and brands we use

Every crown is milled in our partner laboratory from certified ceramic blocks, and your written plan names the material used on each tooth.

  • IPS e.max (Ivoclar)

Lithium disilicate with high translucency, our choice for single front crowns where matching the neighbouring tooth is critical.

  • Ivoclar ceramics

Layering and staining ceramics from the same Liechtenstein manufacturer, used to finish front crowns by hand.

  • VITA

VITA shade guides and blocks give us a repeatable colour reference, so a crown made today still matches on a later visit.

  • Zirconia (monolithic and layered)

High-strength zirconia for molars, bruxism and implant crowns, either full-contour or layered with ceramic at the front.

A single-visit timeline

  1. Before you travel

    Case review

Send photos or an X-ray on WhatsApp so we can confirm how many units are likely and how many days to book.

  2. Day 1

    Examination & shade

Examination, radiographs and shade selection. Any decay, old fillings or root canal work is completed before the crown is planned.

  3. Day 2

    Preparation & digital scan

The tooth is prepared conservatively, scanned digitally and a temporary crown is fitted so you can eat normally.

  4. Day 4–6

    Try-in & cementation

The finished crown or bridge is tried in for fit, shade and bite, adjusted if needed, then cemented and polished.

Making your crowns last

  • Floss or use interdental brushes daily, decay starts at the crown margin, not on the ceramic.
  • Clean under a bridge with superfloss or a water flosser to keep the gum beneath it healthy.
  • Wear a night guard if you grind, this is the most common cause of ceramic fracture.
  • Keep six-monthly hygiene visits so margins and gum levels are checked regularly.

Frequently asked questions

How long does a crown last?
With good hygiene and regular check-ups, zirconia and e.max crowns commonly last 10–15 years and often longer. The tooth underneath, not the ceramic, usually determines the lifespan.
Crown or veneer, which do I need?
A veneer covers the front surface of a broadly healthy tooth for cosmetic reasons. A crown covers the whole tooth and is used when it is cracked, root-treated or heavily restored.
Can it be done in one trip?
Yes. Most crown and bridge cases are finished in a single 5–7 day visit. Cases that also need implants or root canal retreatment may take longer.
Will the crown match my other teeth?
Shade is chosen in daylight with you and verified at a try-in appointment before cementation, so nothing is fixed permanently until you are happy.
How much does a crown or bridge cost at your clinic?
Albanian dental guidelines do not allow clinics to publish prices online. Send photos or an X-ray on WhatsApp and we send a personal costed plan privately, confirmed after your in-clinic examination.
