Crowns and bridges
How long does a crown last?
With good hygiene and regular check-ups, zirconia and e.max crowns commonly last 10–15 years and often longer. The tooth underneath, not the ceramic, usually determines the lifespan.
Crown or veneer, which do I need?
A veneer covers the front surface of a broadly healthy tooth for cosmetic reasons. A crown covers the whole tooth and is used when it is cracked, root-treated or heavily restored.
Can it be done in one trip?
Yes. Most crown and bridge cases are finished in a single 5–7 day visit. Cases that also need implants or root canal retreatment may take longer.
Will the crown match my other teeth?
Shade is chosen in daylight with you and verified at a try-in appointment before cementation, so nothing is fixed permanently until you are happy.
How much does a crown or bridge cost at your clinic?
Albanian dental guidelines do not allow clinics to publish prices online. Send photos or an X-ray on WhatsApp and we send a personal costed plan privately, confirmed after your in-clinic examination.
Do I need a cap or a veneer?
A veneer covers the front surface only and suits teeth that are structurally sound but the wrong shape, shade or alignment. A cap covers the whole tooth and is for teeth that are cracked, root-treated or largely filling. The deciding factor is how much healthy tooth is left, which a CBCT scan or clinical photos will show.
What are teeth caps?
“Cap” is the everyday word for a dental crown: a covering cemented over a tooth that is broken down, root-treated or heavily filled. There is no clinical difference between the two terms. Modern caps are usually zirconia or E-max rather than the metal-backed crowns that show a dark line at the gum.
Zirconia or E-max crowns, which is better?
Zirconia is stronger and better for back teeth, bridges and patients who grind. E-max is more translucent and generally more lifelike on front teeth. Many of our smile cases use E-max at the front and zirconia further back, and we agree the split with you at the planning stage.
