Aftercare

All-on-4 and All-on-6 aftercare

Full-arch surgery is a bigger day than a single implant. Here is how the first week feels, how to eat with a temporary bridge, and how to look after the final arch for years.

Key takeaways

  • You leave the clinic the same day with a fixed temporary bridge.
  • Soft food only for the first six to eight weeks.
  • The final zirconia arch is fitted on your second trip, about four months later.

What to expect, step by step

  1. Surgery day

    You leave with fixed teeth

Implants are placed and a fixed temporary bridge is screwed on the same day. You will not be without teeth at any point.

  2. Day 1 to 5

    Swelling and liquids

Expect facial swelling and bruising. Soups, smoothies, yoghurt and eggs only. We review you in the clinic before you fly home.

  3. Week 2 to 8

    Soft diet, no biting hard

The temporary bridge is strong enough for soft food but not for crusty bread, nuts or steak. Breaking it early means an unplanned trip.

  4. Month 4

    Final zirconia arch

Second trip: impressions, try-in and fitting of the definitive arch, then a cleaning lesson with the exact brushes you will use at home.

Do this

  • Clean under the bridge daily with a Superfloss or water flosser.
  • Use the interdental brushes we give you around every implant.
  • Book a hygiene review every six months.

Avoid this

  • No smoking; it multiplies the risk of losing an implant.
  • Do not open packaging or bite nails with the bridge.
  • Do not skip the night guard if you grind your teeth.

Contact us straight away if

  • The temporary bridge feels loose or rocks when you chew.
  • A screw hole cover falls out.
  • Persistent numbness in the lip or chin after two weeks.

Once you are back home

Message the clinic on WhatsApp with a photo. We answer in English and Albanian, and we will tell you whether it can wait until your next visit or needs a local dentist the same day.
