Introduction
Implants are not a same-week cosmetic treatment. They are surgery followed by months of healing, so the parts of the process you cannot see from a website matter more than the destination on the booking page.

- A CBCT scan should be taken and read before the plan is written, not on arrival.
- Ask for the implant brand, code and diameter in writing.
- Implants need two trips: 3 to 5 days, then a second trip after 3 to 6 months.
- All-on-4 and All-on-6 cases leave the first trip with a fixed temporary bridge.

Diagnosis comes before the quote
A price quoted from a photograph is not a treatment plan. Bone volume, bone density and the position of the nerve determine how many implants are possible, whether a graft or sinus lift is needed and whether immediate loading is safe. That comes from a CBCT scan, read by the clinician who will operate.
If a clinic quotes you a fixed number of implants before any 3D imaging, you are being sold a package, not a plan. This applies equally in Turkey, Albania, Hungary and the UK.
Implant systems and documentation
Straumann, MegaGen, Nobel Biocare and Osstem are all used across both countries. What matters is that the system placed in your jaw is documented: brand, code and diameter on a certificate you take home. Components are not interchangeable between systems, so without that certificate a dentist in the UK cannot easily service the work in ten years.
The two-trip timetable
The first trip is three to five days: consultation, CBCT, plan confirmation, placement. Then three to six months of healing at home, with remote check-ins. The second trip, again three to five days, is for the final crowns or the final full-arch bridge. Full-arch cases leave the first trip with a fixed temporary, so you are never without teeth.
Anyone offering permanent full-arch teeth finished in one week is either fitting a temporary and calling it final, or skipping healing.
Travel, and why the extra hour matters
Tirana is two-and-a-half to three hours from London, Manchester, Birmingham, Bristol, Liverpool and Edinburgh, and the clinic is 30 minutes from the airport. Turkish destinations are around four hours. Over a treatment that involves at least two trips and possibly a review, the shorter flight is a genuine practical difference rather than a marketing point.
What to ask both clinics
Who reads the CBCT and writes the plan. Which implant system, and can you have the certificate. What happens if an implant fails to integrate, and who pays for the replacement. How long the warranty runs and what keeps it valid. Who you contact from home, and how fast they answer. The clinic that answers all five in writing before payment is the safer one, whichever country it is in.
