Introduction
"Turkey teeth" is not a treatment. It is the nickname British patients gave to a very specific result: a uniform, bright, slightly oversized set of front teeth completed abroad in a single week. Understanding what is actually done to the teeth matters more than the nickname, because one version of it is reversible and the other is not.

Crowns and veneers are not the same thing
A veneer is a thin ceramic shell bonded to the front of a tooth. Preparation is usually under a millimetre of enamel, and in selected cases none at all. A crown covers the tooth on every side, so the tooth is reduced all the way round before it is fitted.
That difference decides everything that follows. Once a healthy tooth has been prepared for a crown, it will always need a crown. If the nerve is irritated by the preparation, root canal treatment may follow. This is why a plan that reaches for crowns on healthy front teeth should be questioned, wherever it is offered.
Why the results all look alike
Fast full-smile cases often work from a stock shape and a very bright shade chosen from a shade guide rather than from your face, lips and existing teeth. It photographs well and looks obviously artificial in person. A planned case starts from a digital smile design and a mock-up you try in your mouth before anything is prepared, so length, shape and shade are agreed while they can still be changed.
How long the work actually lasts
Well-made ceramic crowns last around ten to fifteen years, and often longer with good hygiene, six-monthly checks and a night guard if you grind. What shortens that is not the country. It is the fit at the gum margin, the material chosen, and whether the tooth underneath was healthy in the first place. A crown does not protect the tooth from decay: the margin still has to be kept clean.
The questions worth asking before you book
Ask whether the plan is veneers or crowns, in writing, and how much tooth structure will be removed. Ask which ceramic will be used and by which laboratory. Ask to see the mock-up stage in the timetable. Ask what the warranty covers, for how long, and who you contact if something fails after you fly home. A clinic that answers those five questions in writing before payment is a very different proposition from one that quotes a number and a flight date.
